A series of 3 to 6 treatments is recommended for optimal results. Please note this is not suitable as an initial treatment. Skin preparation is required for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to treatment and prescribed post-care products are compulsory to ensure optimal skin healing and targeted results.

We do not recommend this treatment for clients currently using some medications including roaccutane, warfarin, antibiotics, blood-thinners and long-term aspirin use. Additionally, this treatment is not recommended for those with active cold sores in the treatment area, low pain tolerance or an inability to take downtime.

During the Dermapen 4 treatment, you may experience a mild sensation of prickling or tingling as the device's micro-needles gently penetrate the skin. However, many individuals find the discomfort to be minimal and easily tolerable. Your skin may also feel slightly warm or flushed during and immediately after the treatment. Overall, the experience is generally well-tolerated, and any discomfort is typically brief. After the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red or irritated, similar to a mild sunburn, but this usually subsides within a few hours to a day.

Preparing your skin for optimal results with Dermapen 4 involves a minimum of 4 weeks of pre-care. This includes using cosmeceutical homecare products B3 and retinol, as prescribed by your HUB therapist, to prime your skin for the treatment. It is essential to follow any specific instructions provided by us to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for treatment, maximising the effectiveness and helping you achieve your desired results.

Post-care is equally important to support the healing process and maximise results of your Dermapen 4 treatment. After your treatment, we recommend using only a gentle cleanser, a vitamin-rich repair moisturiser (which can be purchased from HUB’s reception) and a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF on your skin. It is crucial to follow aftercare instructions carefully to ensure the best possible outcome from your treatment and minimise the risk of irritation or complications.

You can expect for the skin to be pink or red for 12 to 48 hours following your treatment, similar to a sunburnt feeling. The skin can feel tight and dry for a couple of days after skin needling, this lasts for about 5 to 7 days. Patients can use hydrating products to help this and will be recommended products during your personal consultation. We recommend avoiding active ingredients such as vitamin A, Vitamin C, AHAs, BHA, etc. for 7 days after your treatment. If patients wish to wear makeup after the procedure, it is recommended to avoid it for the first 24 hours. After this period, using mineral makeup is advised to prevent any irritation to the skin. Additionally, using new sponges and brushes, or cleaning your current sponges and brushes thoroughly before use, will help minimise the risk of infection.

We recommend 3 to 6 treatments at 4 to 6 week intervals. Your HUB therapist will be able to recommend the appropriate number of treatments to achieve your desired results.

HUB Skin Wellness Pilates requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. All appointments require a card to be held on file, and for treatments valued $100 and over, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit.

If you reschedule or cancel with more than 48 hours’ notice, and your treatment is valued $100 and over, your $50 non-refundable deposit can be applied when securing your next appointment or used as a credit to purchase product from HUB Skin.
If you reschedule or cancel your appointment within the 48-hour window, or fail to attend your appointment, your card on file will be charged 50% of your total treatment fee. This is applicable to all appointments, regardless of the treatment value.

Please note if you fail to attend an appointment on two or more occasions without notice, we will require the full treatment amount to be paid at the time of booking for any future appointments.
