Treatment Information
-
Excel V is a highly-effective and innovative laser treatment used to safely and effectively treat over 20 aesthetic and dermatologic skin concerns. Developed by Cutera, a global leader of dermatology and aesthetics devices, it is the most advanced aesthetic laser technology, combining 2 powerfully precise lasers to target and eliminate unwanted red, brown, purple and blue blemishes on the face and body.
-
We highly recommend this treatment for clients looking to address unwanted vessels, redness, some types of pigmentation and scarring on the face and body.
-
We do not recommend this treatment for clients who are currently pregnant, sunburnt, fake tanned, have active cold sores in the treatment area or are using some medications including roaccutane, warfarin, blood-thinners and long-term aspirin use.
-
Excel V effectively diminishes specific blemishes on the skin by delivering wavelengths to target haemoglobin chromophores in visible vessels causing them to coagulate.

Vascular laser treatment feels like a hot flicking sensation on the skin which can be momentarily uncomfortable, particularly in sensitive areas around the eyes and nose. A cooled treatment tip will be in contact with the skin during the treatment to protect and provide additional comfort to the area.

We ask that no fake tan be used on the treatment area 2 weeks prior to vascular vein treatment and that you stop using any form of Vitamin A or retinoids 1 week prior to your treatment. We recommend avoiding Vitamin A and exfoliants for at least 7 days post-treatment and using broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection.
-
Depending on the treatment site size, heat and swelling can occur in the area for 24 to 72 hours post-treatment. An over-the-counter antihistamine may be used at night time only to reduce the potential of post-treatment swelling.
-
For some smaller vessels, a single treatment can sufficiently treat the area. For larger sections such as cheeks or the whole face, a series of 3 to 6 treatments at 4 to 6 week intervals may be recommended.
-
Depending on the size of the area to be treated, prices can range from $79 to $400 per treatment. Your therapist will be able to advise on recommended frequency and treatment costs. Recommended treatment enh

LED light therapy is strongly recommended post-treatment to reduce inflammation in the skin and reduce downtime and swelling that can occur post-treatment.
